Many people feel nervous or unsure of what to expect during their initial Exercise Physiology session. But, there is no need to be! Below we’ve outlined what you can expect during your first appointment so there are no surprises when you walk through the NAPHL Health Hub doors.

We promise there will be no beep tests, boot camp style workouts, or marathon cardio sessions.

When you arrive for your appointment our Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) will ask you a few questions to get to know you. They will then go through your medical history, medications, lifestyle and diet. Don’t worry if you think your diet and lifestyle needs a bit of an overhaul – that’s what we’re here to help you with.

You will then be asked what you would like to achieve through your Exercise Physiology sessions and together with our AEP, you will set some goals.

Our AEP will go through a thorough physical history with you from if you played any sports as a kid, to what pain and/or injuries you have, and if you’re currently exercising. You may also be asked what, if any, equipment you have at home and discuss anything else relevant to you being able to complete an exercise program.
