''VETERAN HEALTH - A Systematic Approach to Musculoskeletal Concerns".

Designed for General Practitioners, Practice Managers and Practice Nurses, this event is designed give participants the skills, knowledge and confidence to accurately identify and treat common musculoskeletal conditions, as well as how to appropriately bill for veteran consultations.

  • Dr Chris Wainwright: Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Mackay
  • Sacha Reason: Research Registrar for Dr Chris Wainwright


  1. Distinguish common musculoskeletal conditions that impact Veterans' health.
  2. Outline the process of a post-ADF discharge health assessment and formulate a process to implement this within your clinic. 
  3. Formulate a process to support Veterans to submit claims for assistance with the Department of Veterans Affairs. 
  4. Develop a process to identify the qualifying features of the Coordinated Veterans Care (CVC) program and its activation within your practice. 
  5. Utilise appropriate resources and software to appropriately bill for veteran consultations.

Important Note for Regional Participants:

NAPHL will be providing up to $500 in reimbursement of travel and accommodation costs to support two regional GP's in attending this event. The reimbursement will be provided in order of application to the first two North Queensland applicants based outside of Townsville who require financial assistance to support their attendance. Please note: Receipts for flights and accommodation must be provided.
