Advocacy for healthcare in NQ: an online discussion We are inviting all GPs across Northern Queensland to participate in an online discussion with GPs, Mr Phillip Thompson OAM, MP and special guest Professor Michael Kidd, facilitated by Dr Michael Clements (Chairman, NAPHL). Professor Michael Kidd AM is Deputy Chief Medical Officer and Principal Medical Advisor with the Australian Government Department of Health, and Professor of Primary Care Reform at The Australian National University. He is a general practitioner and primary care researcher, past president of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, and past president of the World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA). Prior to joining the Department of Health, he was Director of the World Health Organization Collaborating Centre on Family Medicine and Primary Care, and Professor and Chair of the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto in Canada. Both Mr Thompson and Professor Kidd, would like to hear from local GPs about how policy decisions are impacting healthcare in our region. This is a great opportunity to influence policy that impact General Practice in Northern Queensland. We would like to encourage all GPs to become members of NAPHL. Membership is free and provides the foundation to run more events like this. You can find out more about becoming a member HERE Booking for this event has now closed.
