  • STATEMENT OF RIGHTS

    The Northern Australia Primary Health Limited (NAPHL) Statement of Healthcare Rights is based on and reflects the Australian Charter of

    Healthcare Rights.

     

    The Statement describes the rights of patients and other people using NAPHL health services as part of the Australian health system.

     

    These rights are essential to make sure that, wherever and whenever care is provided, it is of high quality and safe.

  • CERTIFICATION

    Northern Australia Primary Health Limited is committed to delivering best practice clinical outcomes and continually improving our consumer outcomes. 

    The NAPHL management system has been developed in accordance with the standards AS/NZS 9001:2008 Quality Management Standard and the National Standard for Mental Health Services and is accredited by IHCAC an independent third party certification body. 

    These standards set out a framework which enables NAPHL to manage and address operational risk and maintain an improvement philosophy.

Chief Executive Officer - Julie Sturgess
 Registered Nurse, Bachelor of Nursing, Advanced Critical Care Certificate, Member Australian Institute of Company Directors, Australian College of Health Service Management, Institute for Health Improvement, American Telehealth Association. Julie has over 30 years’ experience in the health care sector as a clinician and senior management executive. Her experience encompasses roles in government and non-government organisations, metropolitan, regional and rural health providers.
 Julie has a very ‘hands on’ approach to understanding what is important to recipients of our services and a passion for driving the provision of healthcare services and improving access for patients across a range of environments through the implementation of innovative and sustainable solutions for care which promote optimum safety, quality and efficiency whilst recognising the unique requirements of each community and healthcare provider.
 Julie has a keen interest in the opportunities that eHealth will drive in changing the face of healthcare delivery, she recently worked with the National Health CIO forum and Northern Territory Health to establish the National Telehealth Connection Service, increasing the delivery of health services to remote indigenous communities via telehealth technology. Chief Operations Officer - Carol Nolan
 Registered Nurse, Master Nursing, Bachelor Health Science (Nursing), Diploma Applied Science (Nursing Education), Midwifery, General Nursing, Member of Australian College of Nursing, Graduate Australian Institute of Company Directors Carol is an accomplished health professional with a broad experience in health care. Carol has worked in a variety of clinical roles in Vic, WA, ACT and QLD. She has a background in both hospital and university based pre and post registration nursing programs. As general manager in a private Primary Health Care service, Carol gained a more balanced picture of the Australian Health Care system, its challenges and its workforce issues. This knowledge and experience was further developed as Deputy CEO of Townsville Division of General Practice which transitioned to her current position. Carol is responsible for ensuring services are efficient and effective with the proper management of resources, distribution of services and analysis. This has required strong strategic planning skills and a deep understanding of change management as this organization transitioned to a Medicare Local and again into its current role.
